Vanderheyden Adds Two New Board Members

The board of directors of Vanderheyden, a Capital Region human services agency serving children, youth, and families, is pleased to announce that two community leaders have joined the Vanderheyden board.


Laura L. Dillon is the Supervising Insurance Examiner in the Consumer Assistance Unit of the New York State Department of Financial Services. She specializes in health insurance laws and regulations. As an Insurance Examiner for over 20 years, Ms. Dillion has extensive knowledge assisting people with learning skills to lead a healthy and independent life. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Siena College and currently lives in East Greenbush, NY.

 

James Faranda is Senior Financial Consultant/Tax Preparer at CAP COM Financial Services. Mr. Faranda has earned his Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 6,7,63 and 66 securities registration which are held with LPL Financial. He also serves as mentor to the Advisory Team and oversees the Credit Union’s Tax Department. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Siena College and currently is enrolled in the College for Financial Planning to obtain the professional designation of Certified Financial Planner.

We are very excited to these leaders are joining us," said Pat Hughes, Chairman of the Board.

Vanderheyden began as the Troy Orphan Asylum in 1833. Today Vanderheyden provides safe haven for children, youth and adults who have experienced family disruption, emotional difficulty and learning problems. Services include diagnostic/respite services, education for 7-12th grade students, residential cottages and group homes, and testing/treatment for medical, psychological, psychiatric and educational issues.
