STEWART’S HOLIDAY MATCH AWARDS VANDERHEYDEN OVER $5,000

This year, Stewart’s Shops received a record number of requests for the Stewart’s Holiday Match
program, totaling over $3 million in support. With so many worthwhile organizations, they were
forced to make some especially hard decisions, focusing on needs versus wants. Vanderheyden is
extremely grateful that our agency was one of 1,800 local children's charities chosen to receive a
grant.

Stewart's Holiday Match funds are to be used directly for children 18 years and under in the
geographic areas where their shops are located and the money was raised. The
$5,250 grant Vanderheyden received will go to towards our therapeutic recreation programs for the
children and youth we serve.

The success of Stewart's Holiday Match program is in thanks to Stewart’s Shops customers for their
generous contributions, and the dedicated shop partners who worked diligently to collect the funds.
The Stewart's Holiday Match program has now allocated nearly $26 million since the program’s
inception in 1986. Vanderheyden is very thankful for Stewart's Holiday Match and their customers’
willingness to help children and families in our community!

Vanderheyden began as the Troy Orphan Asylum in 1833. This year, Vanderheyden is celebrating its
185th anniversary. Today, our facilities provide a safe haven for youth, adults and families who
have experienced family disruption, trauma, abuse, emotional difficulty, developmental disability
and learning problems. The Richard A. Desrochers Educational Center at Vanderheyden is a Regents
accredited 7-12 grade program that provides education to individuals who are at risk of not
succeeding at school, and those in need of a special education. Vanderheyden is committed to a
family focused, trauma informed, and community based system of care. For more
